Minutes of the monthly audit meeting of the Town of Olive Town Board, held Monday January 13, 2020 7 pm at the Town Meeting Hall in Shokan, NY.

Members Present:
Jim Sofranko, Supervisor
Drew Boggess, Board Member
Scott Kelder, Board Member
David Edinger, Board Member
Victoria Read, Board Member

Others Present: Brian Burns, Highway Superintendent; Bill Melvin, Recreation Committee; MaryAnn Shephard, BAR; Dianna Carchidi, Assessor; Simon Strauss, CAC & Cable Franchise Committee; Gene Sorbellini, Recreation Director

Supervisor Sofranko called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

The Town Board audited the monthly bills.

Town Board Members were presented with the Assessor’s report of properties on the market and what has recently sold in December, which was prepared by Dianna Carchidi, Town Assessor. (#1-20) Dianna went over the report and reviewed for the new Town Board members what issues might cause there to be a problem with the equalization rate.

Supervisor Sofranko reviewed the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting.

The following topics were discussed by the Town Board:

1. Daniels Property at 4076 Route 28 Boiceville- Central Hudson requests meter be left on to run the sump pump in case of flooding at least until the building is demolished.

2. Andy Emerich, Engineer for Ulster County would like the Town to right a letter of support to the CWC for grant funding on the Maltby Hollow Bridge in West Shokan.

3. Request for Proposals went out to various bus companies in the area.

Supervisor Sofranko appointed three new committees. Supervisor Sofranko wanted the Liaisons to be involved in picking the members for their committees, therefore no members were appointed at this time.

Zoning Committee- Drew Boggess, Liaison
Supervisor Sofranko asked that this committee look into issues the Town has had in the past with the Zoning Law. He does not expect a whole rewrite but update where the need might be.

Technology Committee- David Edinger, Liaison
Supervisor Sofranko would like to achieve better communication with the residents of the Town of Olive with this committee.

Buildings and Grounds Committee- Scott Kelder, Liaison
Supervisor Sofranko would like to reestablish this committee to assess the buildings and parks and grounds.

On a Sofranko/Read motion, the Town Board adjourned into Executive Session to discuss potential litigation issue at 8:30 pm.
