Local Law #1 of 2022 To Amend Olive Code for Officers & Employees Residency Requirements

Notice of public hearing was duly given and said hearing duly held on March 7, 2022 to consider the enactment of a Town of Olive Local Law #1 of 2022 amending the Town of Olive Chapter 48 Officers and Employees Article IV, Residency Requirements 48-8 Eligibility of Employee.

In substance the Law will amend several sections within Chapter 48 of the Town of Olive Code.

Now, therefore please take notice that after due consideration and deliberation the Town Board of the Town of Olive duly enacted said Local Law on March 8, 2022 at a duly called meeting and said Local Law shall be in full force and effect as provided by law upon the filing of a copy of this Local Law with the Secretary of State.  The Local Law enacted is called:

Local Law # 1 of 2022 Amending the Town of Olive Chapter 48 Officers and Employees Article IV, Residency Requirements 48-8 Eligibility of Employee.  The new amendments are available in the Town Clerk’s Office Monday- Friday 9am-4pm or on the Town of Olive website: townofolive.org.

A local law amending Town of Olive code for Officers and Employees Chapter 48 Article IV residency requirements as follows:

 

48-8. Eligibility of Employee change:

 

From:

 

Every person at the commencement of his or her employment and throughout said employment shall be a bona fide resident of the Town of Olive, except:

If no qualified resident of the Town of Olive is ready, willing and able to fill the position within a reasonable time of its first being available.

If no qualified nonresident of the Town of Olive is ready, willing and able to accept the position and to relocate his or her residence to the Town of Olive.

 

To:
