Shokan Sewer District Public Information Session March 22, 2022

Notice of Public Information Session

  Town of Olive, New York

 

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Olive will meet on the 22nd day of March, 2022, at 7:00 P.M., at the Town Meeting Hall, located on Bostock Road, Town of Olive, New York, for the purpose of conducting a public information session on a proposal to establish a sewer district for the Hamlet of Shokan.  Representatives from the Town, the Catskill Watershed Corporation, and Lamont Engineers will be available to answer questions. All interested property owners in the proposed sewer district are encouraged to attend.

 

The general boundaries of said proposed district are as follows: those properties located in the Hamlet of Shokan delineated on the proposed Service Area Map on file with the Town Clerk.

 

The improvements proposed to be made are as follows: construction of a new sewage collection system for the proposed district, new wastewater treatment plant to serve the residents within the proposed sewer district and the existing Boiceville Sewer District, conversion of the existing Boiceville wastewater treatment plant to a pump station, construction of a transmission line to convey wastewater from the existing Boiceville Sewer District. The Engineer’s Report and Plan is on file with the Town Clerk.

 

The costs of forming the district and designing, permitting and constructing the infrastructure are funded by New York City pursuant to the Community Wastewater Management Program. The Town will not incur any expense in the formation of the proposed Sewer District and the construction of the public improvements to be constructed. The estimated cost of hook-up fees is zero and a detailed explanation of the annual operation and maintenance costs to residential and non-residential users is on file with the Town Clerk.
