Ulster County is proposing to increase the height of its public safety communications tower on Tonche Mountain from 80ft to 120ft to improve coverage and allow for the operation of a county-wide simulcast radio system. To understand the visual impacts of the proposed height the County has identified a total of 11 site locations that are likely to be visible. Photo simulations of the showing the new tower height will be done for these locations. The County is requesting feedback from the public any additional sensitive sites that should be included in its visual analysis. The County will conduct a balloon test in the coming months and will give public notice of the date and time of this test.
