Minutes of the public hearing on Local Law #1 of 2020, held Monday, June 8, 2020 6:45 pm via Zoom link due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Others Present: Brian Burns, Highway superintendent; Brent Gotsch, Cornell Cooperative; Melinda Herzog, Cornell Cooperative

Supervisor Sofranko called the public hearing to order at 6:45 pm and requested Board Member Edinger, facilitator of the meeting, to begin the recording.

Town Clerk, Dawn Giuditta read the legal ad for the public hearing that ran in the Daily Freeman.

Supervisor Sofranko read the Ordinance amendments of Town Code Chapter 150 Vehicles and Traffic.

Supervisor asked if there were any comments. There were no comments from any of the Zoom participants. On a Sofranko/Boggess motion the public hearing was adjourned at 7pm.

Minutes of the audit meeting of the Town of Olive Town Board held Monday, June 8, 2020 7:00pm via Zoom link due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Members Present: Jim Sofranko, Supervisor

Others Present: Brian Burns, Highway superintendent; Brent Gotsch, Cornell Cooperative Extension; Melinda Herzog, Cornell Cooperative Extension; Christine Himberger

Supervisor Sofranko called the meeting to order at 7:01 pm and requested Board Member Edinger, facilitator of the meeting, to begin the recording.

Presentation: Brent Gotsch and Melinda Herzog both from Cornell Cooperative Extension
presented the Climate Smart Resiliency Planning Recommendations. The power point presentation is available in the Town Clerk’s office. (#65-20) “The Climate Smart Resiliency Planning tool is a checklist to identify gaps in a community’s planning process. The Climate Smart Resiliency Planning Tool was used to evaluate opportunities for the Town of Olive to improve its community’s resilience to flooding and climate change.”

Supervisor Sofranko advised Christine Himberger that there were no comments at the public hearing and that the Town Board would vote on the Ordinance Amendments to Chapter 150 at the Tuesday night meeting.

Christina Himberger made a few comments concerning the public hearing. She stated that she and Peter are big supporters of the Rail Trail they love everything about it, but the parking situation did get crazy pretty quickly. She stated that Jim, Brian and the Board responded really quickly and they have gone from about 15 cars parked along their property to 0 with the new no parking signs in place.

The Town Board reviewed the agenda for the following night’s meeting. Supervisor Sofranko discussed the following topics:
1. New Police Officer being hired on hold for now.
2. NYS Power Authority has requested utility documentation from Central Hudson and at the urging of the CAC the Town will ask NYMIR to get that documentation from Central Hudson and submit to us a proposal for the Waste Water Treatment plant to go 100 % green.
3. Parks and Recreation- Waiting on NYS guidelines for pool and day camp.
4. Email from Patty Hasenflue concerning 10 Center Lane.
5. Parker Lane- sent certified letter to all parties involved in neighbor dispute.
6. Handicapped access at the Town Hall.
7. Office Modifications for COVID guidelines.
8. Bushkill Stream and Streambank Remediation- Baker Bros. have resumed work on the stream.

The Town Board members were sent reports from Janice Lanzarotta, Bookkeeper (Statement of Expenditures, Encumbrances & Appropriations #66-20) and Dianna Carchidi, Assessor (April Sales & Market Report #67-20)

On a Sofranko/Edinger motion, the meeting was adjourned at 8:29 pm.
